We had a lovely time last Saturday at the Imperial Hotel. There were about 30 girls there in total, some who joined us from the Seahorse Society, some girls from Transtasman Transgender and a few girls who've posted on STG, but haven't come to an STG night before. It was lovely to meet Sarah, Clare and great to see alot of our old friends again. Even Belinda and Kirsten made it out into the wild inner west! Lorraine, Susan, Kat and Angie were in fine form as usual and Tania, Anna and Sue were downstairs in the cocktail lounge with a number of other girls, out of the way of all the smoke. We ventured to see a few of the legendary shows and weren't disappointed! All in all, a fabulous night, talking to some really interesting people and meeting new friends!

 

Our next girls night out will be this coming Saturday, June 3rd at the Imperial Hotel, we'll see you there in the front bar at 10pm!!

Well, Lorraine, Kat and I finally made it to Transvision Camp on Friday night. Full of glitter and glitz, fabulous gaggle of indian girls dancing, the inimitable Penny D and the outrageous and scathing Carlotta. Then trawled back to the Imperial, nice!

 

 

Due to less time available to me to do makeovers, I've had to re-assess just how transfabulous can help girls with the skills they need to express their feminine sides. I have come up with a weekend Transformation Workshop, to be run on a Saturday afternoon once a month. Have a look at the programme and let me know what you think!

After too long away, Amber is back in action! She was my first ever client and is back looking lovelier than ever! Amber fancied a night out with a friend, so here she is just after her makeover, ready for a fabulous evening out!

You'd think that getting a taxi from Paddington to Darlinghurst would not be a difficult thing, easy huh?

Well after two hours and 45 mins on Friday night, we cancelled our taxi and our night out at Arq for the special transgender night they've been having lately. Trying to get a taxi in our suburb after a Super 14 Waratahs Rugby Union game is a nightmare, although I never realised it would be that bad. I must say, I'd put my best drag queen bling on and we both looked spectacular. Just another reason to move to somewhere not Paddington!

 

 

Jan has just started out and has been to a couple of Seahorse meetings so far. She had a makeover and look at her now, she looks gorgeous!

 

 

What a lovely afternoon out, all the stalls and the people and the sparkling entertainment, all of us enjoyed it immensely!

Due to unfortunate dental disasters beyond our control, Kat and I did not make it to Saturday's STG night out. Numbers were certainly down on the Christmas extravaganza, although the girls had a great time, as Angie explains in her blog...

yes indeed, there will be another STG Night Out this Saturday, 4th February. The Chatters' dinner will be meeting up at 8pm at the Courthouse Hotel and we'll be meeting at 10pm at Gilligan's, upstairs in the Oxford Hotel, corner of Oxford and Bourke Streets, Darlinghurst. Looking forward to meeting you there!

Last week we had a girl's bbq for Lorraine's birthday. Yes, it was raining, but we sent Kat out in the rain to "man" the barbie while Angie, Lorraine and I stayed inside! More details can be found at Kat's weblog and Angie's weblog. For now, here's a photo of the bbq queen herself, Kat.

Last Saturday's party was definitely the best STG party yet! For the third year in a row, we held a party to celebrate all things festive and fabulous, starting off with a dinner for 31 girls and their friends and partners at Yai's Thai in Newtown. We had the upstairs function room to ourselves and the meal was very delicious indeed! The staff were lovely and all worked out perfectly. I tried to take photos of everyone there, but I don't think I did a very good job!

 

At about 10.30pm, we trotted up to the Newtown Hotel, where there were more drinks and chatting to be had, until the hotel closed at midnight. Then, most of the girls kept on going, walking up to the Imperial Hotel in Erskineville Road. We sat in the main bar, drinking, meeting new people, playing pool, dancing downstairs, watching drag shows upstairs and generally having a fabulous time! Kat, Louise and I managed to drag ourselves home (pun intended) at about 5.30am, what a wonderful night!!! We've booked upstairs at Yai's Thai, 148 King Street, Newtown for 8pm on Saturday December 17th.

It's just opposite the Marlborough Hotel in Newtown and the Newtown Hotel is at 174 King St, about 50m walk from there. They don't do separate bills, so maybe those joining us can bring some change. I imagine that it will be cheaper than Linda's, with mains from $10 to $15 (for the more expensive duck and seafood dishes).

 

We booked for the upstairs section and we may have this room to ourselves if it's not too busy. The restaurant is not licensed, but there's an extensive bottleshop at the Marlborough Hotel across the road. I've found some great reviews of the restaurant, apparently it's quite tasty!!

 

 

It will be 8pm at the restaurant, then 10pm at the upstairs cocktail bar (bar2) at the Newtown Hotel. You can find more information about the Newtown Hotel, here.
